If you are a baseball fan, you have undoubtedly heard about Rafael Palmeiro and his 10-day ban from the game for steroid use. I spent a decent amount of time blogging about steroids in baseball back on Strength Journal, so I will spare you here.

Wait a minute... not so fast... I can't possibly let that one slide. I have been taking nutritional supplements since I started buying creatine and GNC protein powders in 1993. I don't know of a single major supplement company (EAS, Twinlab, Labrada, Atkins, MuscleTech, etc.) that can get away with including some form of anabolic steroid in over-the-counter sports supplements sold at Wal-Mart in 2005. If this is Rafy's excuse, it is lame at best and downright pathetic at worst. Was Cal Ripken Jr. spiking your Gatorade with Dianabol in the dugout as part of some sick laboratory expiriment? When the doctor prescribed your Viagra, was he thinking "let me throw in some Deca Durabolin and IGF-I so Rafy hits more homers this year"?

You made a mistake, own up to it. Don't make a fool of yourself by implying the tooth fairy injected your gluteus maximus while you were asleep in your $30,000 bed. Come on, man...
