MSN Spaces goodies. The past few weeks have been kind of busy. We finished the MSN Spaces book. Yup, all done. It was a heroic sprint over the last few weeks leading up until Tuesday when the book went to print. There were a few moments there when I felt my eyes start to well up like I was 10 years old again and my Bucky Dent doll went missing... but we got through it. Now we just need to post some stuff to that ol' book space since we've gone dark on it recently. Unfortunately, some of the goodies for the book aren't appropriate to talk about yet! Maya and I finished a Think Week paper for "the man" around the same time as the book was winding down. Great timing...! But a lot of fun nonetheless. I'm glad we made the time to get that finished given how crazy things are around here right now. Thanks, Maya! My car has been in the shop for 16 days because of a little tapping sound coming from the trunk area. I've been amazingly calm about the whole thing considering this is about 15 days longer than I expected and there still isn't an ETA on getting the car returned to me. I've been sick since Sunday; woke up with a sore throat and things went downhill from there. I took Monday off and sat here on the couch all day but have been going into the office every day since. Tuesday was my birthday and my fantastic wife surprised me by "peeping" my office the day before. So when I got in, my entire office was covered in pink peeps (some of which have been eaten but not before leaving hardened sugar on lamps and whiteboards). Folks at work had a little surprise cake which was great - and Karen somehow found a Supercat costume which we have not been able to get on Kirby yet. But we will ;) Thanks to everyone! Melinda & I are addicted to the first season of Lost. Don't give anything away, we won't be caught up for a couple of weeks. On Tuesday night I walked down to Tower Records and almost passed out I was so dizzy. All so I could get myself the deluxe edition of Batman Begins for my birthday. Redwest A (the building where the Spaces team now hangs) is buzzing with excitement and chaos. In a lot of ways it feels like last October... but better. Energy is high but so is the tension. As long as we all remember why we love this stuff, I think we'll make it to the holidays! Speaking of loving this stuff, I have a post brewing about what we mean by a "space"; we're starting to see some things converging around concepts that are way beyond blogging (including recent changes to Yahoo 360 and TypePad's Comet pre-announcements). These changes are starting to signal a shift away from traditional blogging to something a lot more comprehensive and personal. It's exciting because this is exactly what we were anticipating last year when we launched MSN Spaces. You can blog on MSN Spaces, but MSN Spaces is not just a blogging service. Comments (26)
